WORKING BEE 18th March
March 18 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
Free
Please arrive at 8:30am for a 9am start – we’ll finish about 12 noon in time for lunch before the game.
We’ve got some work to do on Arena and Matts fields – and we need your help!!
This working bee will concentrate on:
1. Clearing blackberry and gorse from the existing tracks (Matts and Arena)
2. Constructing buildings on Arena field
Who should come:
EVERY member that is willing to give up time to improve our field.
What to bring:
GLOVES to protect you from the gorse and blackberry. Any equipment that will help to cut blackberry, gorse and scrub. I’ve found electric and petrol hedge trimmers to be really effective against Blackberry. Gorse can be cut with saws and normal long handled secateurs.
Make sure you bring all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment – we’re on a working farm and Health and Safety is our top priority. If you don’t have the appropriate protection, you may not be able to use your gear – (especially applicable to chainsaws).
Post hole borer (we’re erecting buildings that use in ground 4×4 posts for corner supports).
Crow bars, hammers, battery drills, to help assemble the buildings.
Spades, shovels, wheelbarrows to move dirt and gravel around
Food and drink – lots of WATER!!
What’s in it for me?
This counts towards your engineers patch and most importantly, we improve our field and the game day experience for everyone!
See you there!!
*This event is being held on Denbigh Road which is a small winding road servicing multiple farms. As a courtesy to residents, please keep your speed below 80km/h on the sealed portion. Please keep your speed below 20km/h on the gravel sections and farm track – there is often wandering stock and houses close to the road. Excess road dust can contaminate their drinking water.
