about us
Welcome to Taranaki Airsoft Rangers
Taranaki Airsoft Rangers (TAR) is an Airsoft sports club which is run by its members. The club was established in 2009 and has grown to over 100 members, with a regular turnout of 20 - 30 players per game. Our not for profit club is made up of like-minded members from all walks of life, we range in age from mid-teens to the mid-forties. We game on Saturdays fortnightly, when weather permits, at an outdoor 'battlefield' covering about 12 hectares on a privately owned farm in Midhirst, Taranaki.
what is airsoft?
Airsoft Is An Active Sport And Not For The Faint of Heart!
Airsoft weapons are often replicas of real firearms, but they shoot small plastic 6mm BBs. Airsoft is similar to first-person shooting video games, and it allows experiencing realistic battle and tactical scenario gameplay.

My favourite Airsoft gun is my MK46 LMG.
I like playing CQB and open field games as they are very different from each other so are both fun for very different reasons. I would like to see more built up bases on the field with each one being unique. I would love something like a light aircraft or helicopter airframe as a permanent prop on the field too. When I’m not playing airsoft, I’m scuba diving, flying large scale RC Warbirds, and hanging out with my young daughter and my wife.

My favourite Airsoft gun is my ARP556.
I started playing airsoft in Aug 2021 with my eldest son Jayden. I really enjoy the family feel of the club and a wide variety of game modes. I enjoy running themed games and like to run mini events like Operation Brimstone and Nighthawk.
When I'm not on the field I'm spending time with my wife Megan and 2 boys Jayden and Connor - or fishing!
